Classic Brands Serena Pillow Top Innerspring Mattress Review

10 year warranty is good for a laugh and nothing more

The mattress was easy to unpack and sprung into shape quickly. It is a bit softer than expected based on seller description. It seems fine for occasional use in a guest room but I have my doubts about it for daily use. Given the price and weight that is not a surprise. The full size one weighs about 63 pounds so one person can move it without much effort. When compressed it is really easy to maneuver through narrow halls in an old house. The reason for 3 stars has to do with the ridiculous "10 year warranty" that is effectively useless. It is prorated after 3 years and has enough exclusions to virtually assure the seller will never have to honor a warranty claim. That may be a good thing since purchaser is responsible for all transportation costs in the event of a warranty claim. Unless you have a giant vacuum packaging machine to re-compress this thing I am certain transportation costs will exceed the purchase price so the warranty is nothing more than a not so honest sales pitch.-JA

it really looked like a 10in

I ordered this queen size 10in, inter-spring mattress including pillow top and it arrived a day sooner that expected. It came in a heavy cardboard box that measured close to 12in, X 12in, X 80in, When I first say the box I thought "OH NO"; what have I done? How can a mattress with inter-springs be rolled up and stuffed into such a box? I open the box to find the mattress was very tightly rolled inside a vacuum sealed thick mil plastic shipping bag.. With some trepidation, I cut into the plastic bag and heard this hissing sound. It was too late to turn back so I continued with cutting until the mattress was completely free. At this point it started to unroll itself and expanding. Within approx 1/2 half hour, it really looked like a 10in. pillow top inter-spring mattress and there was no foul smell! We placed it on a new box spring and it looked great. We then laid on it and to our amazement found it both firm and yet soft. We are very happy with this whole experience and will buy another one if the need arises. -K. B.
